• “Porzuczek’s debut collection is a brutally vulnerable, multilayered love song to the self-born through acts of survival undertaken only by necessity. The speaker in these poems discovers, undiscovers, constructs, and reconstructs herself over and over—ultimately embracing the unfamiliar mosaic of personhood she is left to contend in the margins, knowing that 'there’s no looking back.'”

Maeve Holler, Author of How To Leave Your Family

  • “Porzuczek's Memento Mori demonstrates the raw power of resilience through masterful, relatable poetry. She shows us how acknowledging our wounds creates space for growth and deeper human connection. This collection offers a tender lifeline for anyone seeking to understand their own path to emotional wholeness.”

  • "Eileen Porzuczek takes us down a long road of injury, loss, and recovery. Resilience ties each poem together, making the reader root for her every step of the way. These poems, though dark and twisty at times, shine a light on the gritty process of trauma recovery and the work that must go into healing the body and mind."
